Terms of use
Last updated: 7 November 2026
These terms cover the Pentivo app and this website. By using Pentivo you accept them, together with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Licence
Pentivo is licensed, not sold, for personal and professional use on the Apple devices you own or control, under the App Store's usage rules. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app.
Free and Pro
The free version lets you write a simple song with up to four staves and includes a limited number of photo and PDF conversions each month. Pentivo Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks the tools listed in the app on every device signed in to the same Apple Account, and with your Family Sharing group. Pro tools added in future updates are included.
Purchases and refunds
Payments are processed by Apple. Prices can differ between countries and may include tax. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you reinstall the app or change devices, use Restore Purchases in Settings.
Gift codes
Gift codes are Apple offer codes. They are redeemed in the app, can be used once, cannot be exchanged for money and may expire on the date shown with the code.
Your music
Everything you write in Pentivo belongs to you. When you scan, import or share music written by someone else, you are responsible for having the right to do so; copyright in printed music usually belongs to its composer or publisher.
Recognition and listening
Turning photos, PDFs and sound into notes is automatic and can make mistakes. Always check a converted score before you perform, print or publish it.
Sharing
When you invite people to edit a score, they can change it. Invite only people you trust, and keep your own copy of important work.
Availability
We work to keep Pentivo running well, but we cannot promise it will be free of errors or available without interruption. Features may change as the app improves.
Warranty and liability
To the extent the law allows, Pentivo is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost work. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with its date.
